Guadalupe Sánchez Hernández

Physics graduate at the Universidad de Salamanca and PhD in Physics from the Universidad de Extremadura, Dr. Guadalupe Sánchez Hernández started her research activity in 2009 with the AIRE research group from the Universidad de Extremadura. Since then, her research has been concerned with solar radiation arriving the Eart’s surface and its diffuse and direct components, both in the global solar spectrum but in the ultraviolet range, as well. As a result of this work, she has published 10 papers, a PhD thesis and more than 20 communications to international conferences. It is also outstanding her work in 5 campaigns for intercomparison and calibration of wide-band radiometers in the surveillance center “El Arenosillo” (Huelva), of the Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial together wiht her stays at the Nasa Goddard Space Flight Center, in United States. The work carried out during these stays was concerned with the modelling of the diffuse and direct solar radiation by means of 3D radiative transfer models. Her current research activity is carried out with the Instituto Interuniversitario de Investigación del Sistema Tierra de Andalucía (IISTA-CEAMA), partner of the University of Granada, under a postdoctoral Juan de la Cierva-Formación contract.
