Juan Andrés Casquero Vera

Juan Andrés Casquero Vera obtained the degree in Physics and the M.Sc. degree in Geophysics and Meteorology from the University of Granada in 2014 and 2015, respectively. He is part of the Department of Applied Physics of the University of Granada since 2015, where he is developing his teaching and researching activities.

His teaching activity was initiated with the subject Energy Management and Renewable Energies from the degree in Environmental Sciences. Actually, his teaching activity is centred on Physics subjects on the degree in Architecture (Physical Fundamentals Applied to Structures and Physical Fundamentals Applied to Facilities).

His research activity is focused on Atmospheric Physics, mainly of air quality and atmospheric aerosol physical and chemical properties. Among his most outstanding works in the field of air quality is the report of “Air Quality Diagnosis in the Granada Metropolitan Area” for the local government. In the field of the atmospheric aerosol, he has several works among which the development of a method for fog prediction in collaboration with the experimental site SIRTA (France) or the study of the impact of anthropogenic aerosol on the Alhambra monument, among others. Currently his research focuses on the process aerosol formation by gas-particle conversion, conducting his research in close collaboration with the University of Helsinki (Finland).
